September 14, 2020 (Dallas, TX) Elevate Savannah is excited to announce Jay Miranda has been named Executive Director of the nonprofit devoted to helping urban youth navigate life’s challenges.

Mr. Miranda has served on the Elevate Savannah Board and has been actively involved in volunteering in the Dallas Independent School District.  He has over 15 years of experience working in youth and community development roles. He received his BA in Public Administration from National University. Mr. Miranda’s hiring comes as the organization implements a strategic growth plan that will expand its teaching partnership with Thomas Jefferson High School and other DISD schools.

In accepting this position, Mr. Miranda said: “It’s a great honor to come alongside the Elevate Savannah family in their mission to mentor and develop youth to thrive and be contributors in their local community. Raised as a first-generation immigrant in a low-income urban community, I have witnessed first-hand the power that mentors can have in the healthy development of a youth’s life.”

“My wife and I have made it our lives’ mission to invest in youth as well as in community empowerment and transformation through volunteering, fostering youth, and philanthropic endeavors. I am encouraged by the passion and commitment of the Elevate Board and staff, and look forward to helping develop programs and structures that lead to greater overall impact and strategic growth.”
